Language is important - as it how you use it.
This regime is under increasing pressure and Abbott himself is under further pressure. What comes back is language designed to divide, enemies from friends. What the language then methodically seeks to do is to place enemies on the fringe.
If that doesn't work then the next step is to place enemies outside of the law.
The language directed by this regime towards voters has ramped up and is now quite venomous. While it has always targeted us, last weekend seemed a watershed, after the failure to be able to place armed, para-military forces out in Melbourne streets.
This regime has created the language of division - a weapon to keep its enemies back-footed.
However those divisions are deep now, and will last a long, long time - part of the permanent damage this regime will leave behind eventually. The language and mindset will be a battle-ground and one the regime will lose because ultimately the language is empty without action.
And what does the regime propose to do as it continually gets cornered, every day and every week? A coup?
Voters will have the last say. The regime may well then regret its language but the rest of us will never forget - and indeed, never forgive an elected government betraying us all, labeling and attacking us and for destroying the integrity of our political processes.
