ANMF – Sally-Anne Jones re-elected Federal President

Thursday 2nd March, 2017

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) is pleased to announce that Sally-Anne Jones has been re-elected as its Federal President.

Ms Lori-anne Sharp has been elected ANMF Federal Vice President, replacing Maree Burgess.

In congratulating Ms Jones, ANMF Federal Secretary Lee Thomas said her re-election, which was unopposed, was a strong endorsement of her work as the union’s Federal President over the past two years.

“We congratulate Sally-Anne on her re-election,” Ms Thomas said.

“This is a vote of confidence in Sally-Anne and what she has helped the ANMF achieve on behalf of our growing membership.

“She has made a valuable contribution in helping set the ANMF’s priorities and the direction of our campaigns over the past two years and will continue to be a great support to the ANMF into the future.

“We also welcome Lori-anne as our new Federal Vice President and look forward to working closely with her in her new role, particularly at a time when the ANMF tackles a number of crucial issues impacting on our members and the wider community and comes under attack as a result of changes to the country’s IR system.

“On behalf of all of our members, I would like to personally thank our previous Vice President Maree Burgess for the dedication and commitment she has demonstrated over the past two years.

“As Federal Secretary, I greatly appreciated her assistance, support and counsel.”

The ANMF, with over 259,000 members, is the professional and industrial voice for nurses, midwives and assistants in nursing in Australia.
