Nurses Petition against Abbott Border Force Act

Will you sign Christine's petition against the Border Force Act?

Last week the Government introduced the Border Force Act which silences nurses, midwives and other health professionals who speak about the poor conditions in detention centres.

The ANMF is horrified the Government is using this new Law to prevent the Australian public from knowing what really goes on inside detention centres.

Christine Cummins is a Registered Nurse who has just spent five years working in the Torture & Trauma Counselling team on Christmas Island.

Christine has started a petition to the Government and is asking all nurses and midwives to sign.

Christine says that "by signing this petition we can show the Government the importance of working with dignity and humanity. We acknowledge the significance of professional legal, ethical and moral obligations and recognise professional duty of care."

Please support Christine and sign this petitionto repeal Sections 40 and 42 of the Border Force Act relating to secrecy and disclosure for nurses and all health professionals.

Sincerely,

Lee Thomas
