Women around Australia are facing terrorism in their own homes

This week four people died at the hands of their partners.

This year 38 women have been killed. On average, it’s one a week.

One year ago, the Prime Minister made a commitment to do something about this issue. He’s failed.

It was meant to be discussed at an important meeting this week. Instead, the government chose to focus on national security.

Women around Australia are facing terrorism in their own homes. We’ve gone on the record as saying this is unacceptable.

We’ve had enough. We won’t wait. We’re taking action. And we need you to take action too.

Around the country unions are standing up sending the simple message “we won’t wait”.

You can see their messages here, here and here.

But if we want to make them listen, we need to show all politicians that we can't wait.

We have a plan to fix it. It’s simple.

We want the rules changed so that everyone suffering violence and abuse at home has the chance to leave.

Ten days. That’s the minimum it takes to get out, find a new place, and start getting yourself established again. To survive.

Without it, people could lose their job and their financial security.

Can you sign this petition?

Over the next month, we are going to be pushing really hard to get ten days paid leave so people can escape and survive.

We need you. We need you to sign this petition and share it with friends on social media and on email.

What are you waiting for?

We won’t wait.
