Springwood : Medicare Protest

Dear Union Members, Friends, and Supporters,

Would you like to be dipping into your pocket every time you have a blood or urine test? Imagine the impact that this will have on the long term health of the less well-off in our community. The Turnbull Government has proposed a savage cut to the Medicare rebate for several vital tests including pathology and, for most people, diagnostic imaging services as well. This is an ideologically-motivated attack from a side of politics which has never believed in the concept of universal healthcare.

So what can we do about it? This Saturday we will be holding a street stall at the Springwood town square (or across the road in front of the playground/IGA if we are jostling for space). We will have a petition against the cuts to vital testing under Medicare and we will also be talking to residents about the Coalition Government's plans to secretly privatise Medicare.

If you can spare any time at all tomorrow between 9 am and 11:30 am it would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to this email or call/text me 0418 661 706.

In solidarity,

Aaron Reynolds
