Federation will be a vibrant presence at the Mardi Gras on Saturday, March 5 with a float at the famous parade and a hosted stall on Fair Day, so please come and join both events.
Please email lgbtiq@nswtf.org.au to join the float. This will be the second consecutive year that Federation joins the Mardi Gras cavalcade with a float.
This year’s parade theme is “Momentum”, and Federation’s float will celebrate the increasing momentum, over the past few years, of schools ensuring LGBTIQ youth are safe and supported in their learning environments. The float will show our support for the schools, teachers, students and parents who seek to make a positive difference.
Sunday February 21 is Fair Day, and we will once again have a stall for everyone to come by and say hi. This event is always well-supported by the public, giving teachers the opportunity to show support for LGBTIQ communities as well as promote the educational campaigns so important to members.
The stall is an excellent way to meet other LGBTIQ teachers and allies as well as to hear about current campaigns and issues being addressed by Federation. Fair Day provides a fun, relaxed day out for all the family – including pets!
