Secret MOU between NCOSS, Big Business and the Liberal Party on electricity privatisation revealed
Last week we informed members that NCOSS, the IPA (a big business lobby group) and the Liberal Party had signed an MOU about the privatisation of electricity and funding of social housing.
We wrote to NCOSS requesting that a copy of the MOU they signed be made public - after all, they claimed in a Liberal Party press release that the community sector supported the announcement.
Unfortunately to date, NCOSS have failed to provide us with a copy. Despite this, we have been able to obtain the MOU and we want to share it with you.
The community sector should not be used to give cover for the Liberal's deeply unpopular plan to privatise electricity.
It is clear from the MOU that the establishment of the social housing fund is linked explicitly to the privatisation of electricity and not a single dollar of government funds is actually committed to it.
