Vic: OTIS refuses to follow the construction industry standards

Solidarity campaign Australia:

ACT NOW! OTIS refuses to follow the construction industry standards

The Electrical Trades Union of Australia (ETU) members in Victoria state are now on their seventh week out of work after the Otis Management locked them out. ACT NOW! Take two minutes to sign up the protest letter to the Australian Managing director of Otis.

The industrial dispute stemmed from Otis management refusal to follow the construction industry standards that include overtime paid at double rate and 26 RDO per year on guaranteed days; overtime rate, employment of apprentices, site allowances and the Federal Construction Code.

The BWI strongly supports ETU campaign for its 150 Victorian members who are seeking to have the same terms and conditions that are already enjoyed by thousands of Victorian construction workers. BWI urges all its affiliated organisations, fraternal groups and networks to sign the campaign calling for a union agreement that will ensure a safe future of apprentices, workers and construction industry.
