Dubbo Nurses Demand Support from local MP

Member for Dubbo Troy Grant should address the issue that led to local nurses and midwives meeting outside his office last Friday against his government’s refusal to extend safer nurse-topatient ratios to rural and regional hospitals such as Dubbo's.

Local nurses, midwives, patients and their families simply want to know why Mr Grant is not standing up for his electorate and local hospitals and health services.

Why isn’t he demanding the O’Farrell government extend the safer nurse-to-patient ratios reform, which was started in 2011 under the previous Labor government, to hospitals such as Dubbo’s?

Don’t the Liberals and Nationals support making public hospitals and community health services safer for patients and better places to work for nurses and midwives?

Mr Grant should respect the rights of nurses and midwives to campaign publically and provide answers to these important questions about improving the quality and safety of local hospital and community health services.
